       Marcie Jones,          M Accy, CFE, CrFA, CVA, EA

Senior Tax & Forensic Advisor

Marcie Jones is a dynamic and results-driven leader with a distinguished career in public service, specializing in fraud prevention, leadership development, and strategic program implementation. Marcie has a Master's Degree in Accountancy from Ole Miss.  She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Forensic Accountant. a Certified Valuations Analyst, and an IRS Enrolled Agent. 

 

As the Director of the Office of Fraud Enforcement, she spearheaded high-impact initiatives that identified over 5,000 cases of fraud, resulting in civil fraud assessments on more than 2,600 tax returns and over 600 criminal referrals. Her groundbreaking work in launching the Emerging Threats and Data Analytics Program played a pivotal role in safeguarding $1.2 billion in tax revenue by preventing fraudulent COVID relief credit claims. Her strategic vision and data-driven approach have significantly enhanced the Internal Revenue Service’s ability to detect and mitigate fraud at a national level.

Her leadership as Fraud Lead on the Clean Energy Credits team advanced fraud prevention strategies tied to the Inflation Reduction Act, while her creation of a new Data Analytics team brought in specialized talent to drive innovation. 

 

Marcie is currently serving as the Senior Tax & Forensic Advisor at Carraway Cooley, PLLC in Ridgeland, Mississippi, where she assists with complex tax situations, as well as forensic accounting and business valuations.

Marcie is an involved member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, MS where she teaches life group and serves in various ministries. She also enjoys web designing as a hobby and is an avid reader.  Marcie has two Havanese puppies Oliver and Emma.  She is married to Brad Jones, JD, LLM.
